Assisting the voluntary and community sector to develop its uses of information and communications technology (ICT)

ICT Strategy

Regional ICT action plan

There is a regional ICT action plan for the third sector, covering the period April 2010- July 2012. This plan has been developed by ITEM3, the Regional ICT Network, in partnership with the East Midlands Infrastructure Steering Group (EMISG). Members of the ITEM3 Network include the partners to the Regional ICT Project, and other third sector infrastructure organisations.

To support the development of the action plan, baseline research was undertaken to examine the ICT needs of third sector organisations in the region, and to identify key areas for action. The report from the research was published as 'A strategic review of third sector ICT in the East Midlands 2009'.

ICT Strategy toolkit

Commissioned by VONNE this free online toolkit can help organisations to develop an ICT strategy. Having an ICT strategy helps to focus the work of your organisation and to assist it securing future funding where required. By answering a series of questions about your organisation and the work that it does, this toolkit will produce an ICT Strategy which will prove invaluable in accounting for your communication and technology needs into the future. The toolkit can not only produce a general strategy for your organisation, but also allows the production of 'tailored' multi-budget strategies which you may need for specific projects and collaborations etc.Toolkit features include an ICT training needs analysis for staff and volunteers and an up-to-date costs projector for all of the equipment you have and will need to maintain.
