Regional ICT Champion
The Regional ICT Champion for the East Midlands is Steve Webster, who supports and advises third sector infrastructure organisations about the benefits of technology in order to help them offer improved support to frontline groups.
He does this by:
- being a champion for ICT, working regionally and sub-regionally with infrastructure organisations and by developing ICT strategies;
- impartially signposting third sector organisations to providers of practical ICT resources and services;
- sharing best practice in ICT use and helping organisations to become more sustainable through effective use of ICT;
- working in partnership with key infrastructure organisations to promote and develop new initiatives and support services.
The goal is to ensure that through more effective use of ICT, and the support of infrastructure organisations, third sector organisations across the East Midlands become more efficient, improve their communications, and ultimately become more sustainable by using technology wisely.

The work of the Regional ICT Champion is made possible by Capacitybuilders which provides core funding. Capacitybuilders is a non-departmental public body which manages the ChangeUp programme and works with other funders to build the capacity of the third sector. ITEM3 – Regional ICT Network
Alongside the work of the Regional ICT Champion, there is a Regional ICT Network (ITEM3). Network meetings are open to those working in the third sector (voluntary sector / social enterprise) who have an interest in seeing the sector increase and improve the way that it uses ICT. Network members might, for example, be an ICT project worker (Circuit Rider), project manager, or an organisation that is looking to develop, launch or promote an ICT project.

High Peak CVS
High Peak CVS aims to promote community and voluntary sustainability in the High Peak area. This involves supporting the development of voluntary and community organisations by providing advice, practical services, information, training, facilities and by identifying funding.
