Assisting the voluntary and community sector to develop its uses of information and communications technology (ICT)

About Us

The work of the Regional ICT Champion (East Midlands) is now being carried forward by the Regional ICT Project, in conjunction with the Regional ICT Network. The goal is to ensure that through more effective use of ICT, and the support of infrastructure organisations, third sector organisations across the East Midlands become more efficient, improve their communications, and ultimately become more sustainable by using technology wisely. In particular, the aim is to help voluntary and community organisations to harness the benefits of technology to help them in providing services and resources to the wider community.

Up to March 2011, the work of the Regional ICT Champion for the East Midlands was funded by Capacitybuilders, as part of a national programme - with ICT Champions in each region. With the end of the funding the national programme has closed. In the East Midlands some of this work is being carried forward by two existing initiatives - the Regional ICT Project, and the Regional ICT Network.

In particular, the aim is for this website to continue to provide a range of useful ICT resources for third sector organisations, and to signpost other key sources of ICT information which are particularly relevant to those working in the sector.
